Jennifer Grey Leads The Way On Dancing With The Stars , Hasselhoff Eliminated

JENNIFER GREY cemented herself as the early favourite for the 'Dancing With The Stars' title, after an impressive debut performance on the show that wowed both audience and judges alike. However, the 50-year-old broke down in tears as she was reminded of her late co-star PATRICK SWAYZE. During a rehearsal routine, Grey began dancing to a song made famous on the 1987 film 'Dirty Dancing', before becoming over-emotional and having to stop. Afterwards she said, "It took me back in a time capsule, and I was with Patrick. I just missed him. He was such a big presence in my life" - Swayze died last year of pancreatic cancer.

However, Grey pulled through and performed a highly accomplished Viennese waltz in the first live round, with judge Bruno Tonioli commenting, "Baby is back where she belongs", a reference to the hit movie in which she starred. The actress was awarded a score of 24 out of 30, which saw her top the leader-board, making her the early favourite to win the show.

Elsewhere, SARAH PALIN's daughter BRISTOL PALIN danced to the THREE DOG NIGHT hit 'Mama Told Me Not To Come', during which she wore a grey power suit before revealing a red mini dress. DAVID HASSELHOFF attempted a cha-cha, which resulted in him being awarded the night's lowest score.
